Here's a few baby shower cards for my cuz. We don't know if she's having a boy or a girl so I had to make it fairly unisex but the cards kept coming up as very feminine. Maybe that's a sign! Anyhow, I had so much fun doing these. The lime on charcoal cardstock looks amazing.

I wanted to road test some of my new tools from SU. The owl punch is sooooo cute and so easy to use. I especially like how you can change the mood of the card by simply moving the eye balls around. It was a bit fiddly to work with but I found that by using a paper piercer with a bit of dried glue or adhesive at the tip, it makes the job much easier.
This was a quick and easy card to do. I had some pre-purchased felt heart shapes which I placed randomly around the center of the page with a black strip of card stock as a backdrop to break away from the white card stock. Oh and yeah, the scallop border behind the sentiment is from one of my morning cappuccinos (that corrugated cardboard they wrap around your coffee to make it easier to hold the paper cup).

Very Japanese! What I liked about this was the embossing powder we used and then sprinkled with hot set powder and some glitters. The hair on the image felt like flocked paper. The strip of brown glitter at the bottom was just a double sided tape sprinkled with glitter. Clever.
I couldn't get the correct lighting so asked my gorgeous husband to do the photography. In the end we decided to take it outdoors. I must say, despite the overcast weather, it was much better than taking the shots indoors.
Personally, I like the 'Winery' card for it's simplicity. BTW, for those who are thinking of crashing the wedding, don't bother... the dates and venues are made up =)
I had so much fun making it. It's cheeky, the sentiment truly reflects our friendship and I chose the colour purple as for some reason, (not because it's her favourite colour) I somehow associate her with purple. Maybe because she looks great in deep vibrant colours. The black cardstock between the purple and the white also compliments the overall look and feel of the card.
Otherwise, I couldn't part with them! So I took a photo of all of them and am now going to progressively put them into good use!

Let's start with the final version of the place cards my cousin decided to go with for their wedding last June 2011. Personally I thought it was too plain. But that's what she liked. The plain classic look. I must admit, it does ooze with elegance!

I've used pearlised card stock in both bronze and ivory (can't remember the brand) offset by a dark brown luxury designer paper by Paperchic (Cristina Re). The brown ribbon was from Spotlight which I already had and coincidentally matched. I had a lot of offcuts which I could've easily used for her bonbons but she had other plans for that. Oh well... I'm sure I'll find some other purpose for those.
