CARD MAKING: Baby Shower Cards

Here's a few baby shower cards for my cuz.  We don't know if she's having a boy or a girl so I had to make it fairly unisex but the cards kept coming up as very feminine.  Maybe that's a sign!  Anyhow, I had so much fun doing these.  The lime on charcoal cardstock looks amazing.

CARD MAKING: Engagement Card

Here's my latest creation.  A very simple engagement card for a family friend.  I wanted to do the ring freehand, but decided to use my circle punches and some glitter paper.  I was pleased with how it turned out, in fact I hope her 'rock' is as glitzy and huge as this one!

CARD MAKING: N

I created this card at the Stamp-It 'make and take' stall at the Paperific Show last time I went.  I chose this design to experiment with some of the distress ink pads. It isn't my traditional style but I thoroughly enjoyed making this card as it reminds me of those old treasure maps in an adventure movie =)

Tools & Products:
Card Stock: Cream
Designer Paper: None
Embellishments: Ribbon
Stamp: Stamp-It (This was a combination of 2 different stamps)
Stamp Pad: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad (Tea Dye, I think)

CARD MAKING: Mini Post-It Notes

These were some of the gorgeous 'thank you' trinkets I gave to friends and colleagues for their nice thoughtful birthday gifts last year (I forgot to post them!).  I got the inspiration from one of the YouTube channels by 'Chic n' Scratch'.  So clever.  They are mini post-it note covers.

Designer Paper: Assorted (including recycled box from one of my perfumes =)
Embellishments: Handmade sticker bags.
Other Tools: Bow Easy by Posi-Bendr

CARD MAKING: Happy Anniversary

I made this card for my anniversary greeting for my husband.  I wanted to road test some of my new tools from SU.  The owl punch is sooooo cute and so easy to use.  I especially like how you can change the mood of the card by simply moving the eye balls around.  It was a bit fiddly to work with but I found that by using a paper piercer with a bit of dried glue or adhesive at the tip, it makes the job much easier.

Tools & Products:
Cardstock: White, Blue, Pink, Brown and Olive Green
Designer Paper: None
Embossing Folder: Swiss Dots by Cuttlebug
Punch: Owl Builder by SU
Stamps: None

CARD MAKING: Be My Valentine

Here's one I made for my Hubby last Valentines Day.  This was a quick and easy card to do.  I had some pre-purchased felt heart shapes which I placed randomly around the center of the page with a black strip of card stock as a backdrop to break away from the white card stock.  Oh and yeah, the scallop border behind the sentiment is from one of my morning cappuccinos (that corrugated cardboard they wrap around your coffee to make it easier to hold the paper cup).

Tools & Products:
Card stock: Black & White
Designer Paper: None
Embossing Folder: Swiss Dots by Cuttlebug
Stamps: None.  I printed the sentiment from my PC using Microsoft Word.
Embellishments: Heart shaped felts.

CARD MAKING: Japanese Lady

Here's another one of those designs I learned from the 'make and take' sessions in the last Paperific show in Ascot Vale.  Very Japanese!  What I liked about this was the embossing powder we used and then sprinkled with hot set powder and some glitters.  The hair on the image felt like flocked paper.  The strip of brown glitter at the bottom was just a double sided tape sprinkled with glitter.  Clever.

Designer Paper: Alison Ellis
Embossing Folder: None
Stamps: Alison Ellis

CARD MAKING: Noel

I made this card last Christmas and learned the design from one of those 'make and take' stalls in the Paperific Show in Ascot Vale a couple of years ago.  It is so easy to do, yet so gorgeous!  All it needed was some bling to lift out the colours on the Christmas wreath.

Tools & Products:
Cardstock: 2 Different Shades of Green and White
Embossing Folder: None
Stamps: Wreath & Noel (any brand will do the trick)

CARD MAKING: Wedding Invitations

I spent the whole afternoon making sample cards for my niece, who also happens to be my Goddaughter.  She wanted purple and silver, so I had a go at creating a gate fold card with a couple of alternative inserts.  They turned out pretty well but not the kind that is suitable for mass production.  Anyhow, here are the sample pictures =).

I couldn't get the correct lighting so asked my gorgeous husband to do the photography. In the end we decided to take it outdoors.  I must say, despite the overcast weather, it was much better than taking the shots indoors.

Tools & Products:
Cardstock: Purple and Silver
Embossing Folder: Kimmy Luvs by Cuttlebug
Embossing Tool: Cuttlebug
Stamps: None.  I printed the invite wording on my PC using MS Word Doc.

Here's a closer shot of the individual cards:

The Beach Ceremony

The Garden Ceremony

The Winery

Personally, I like the 'Winery' card for it's simplicity.  BTW, for those who are thinking of crashing the wedding, don't bother... the dates and venues are made up =)
